Shabnam Khaliq

I applied for the Leadership Scholarship Programme because I am passionate about developing as a leader in Religion and Worldviews education and contributing to meaningful change within the subject. In an increasingly fragmented modern world, I believe Religion and Worldviews education has a vital role in promoting social cohesion, empathy, and meaningful dialogue between people of different beliefs and backgrounds. I want to strengthen my ability to support colleagues, develop curriculum, and help ensure the subject remains academically rigorous, inclusive, and relevant for all students.
I am most passionate about creating engaging and thought-provoking Religion and Worldviews lessons that encourage students to think critically about belief, identity, morality, and society. I am particularly interested in helping students understand diverse religious and non-religious worldviews, fostering respectful discussion, and showing how Religion and Worldviews education can challenge division and help build more understanding and connected communities.
