Liz Manning

I am a teacher and lead Faith, RE and Community at a wonderfully diverse and inclusive Church of England Primary School in Bolton, Greater Manchester. The school serves children from a range of communities including many from the Muslim faith.
My love for all things RE has led me on an interesting journey; from teaching to supporting schools and teachers through Bolton SACRE and working within the NATRE Exec and Steering Group teams. I applied for the Culham St Gabriel’s Leadership Scholarship Programme to support me to further develop my leadership skills so I can have more impact both locally and nationally, as I strongly believe better learning in RE/Worldviews is what society needs so we can all live well together.
As a primary teacher with many years spent teaching in KS1, I am very passionate about building the foundations of life-long learners. I endeavour to embed children’s love for learning in RE; for them to see themselves and others within their learning to enable them to grow into deep thinking compassionate members of society. I hope through excellent learning in RE, children will be enabled to take the learned skills and ways of knowing with them through their education and into their lives beyond school.
