I live in south east London, I work as a head of department with a great team of RS teachers. I lead in a thriving girls Grammar school where I have the pleasure of teaching some exceptionally bright and compassionate students.

I applied for the leadership programme because I am passionate about Religious Education and eager to contribute to its development, particularly through work with exam boards and government policy. As a South Asian student and teacher, I believe I can bring a valuable perspective and am committed to ensuring RE is inclusive and forward-thinking. I also hope to deepen my understanding of RE in its broader context and contribute meaningfully to my local SACRE.

I’ve always been fascinated by dissecting philosophical and theistic arguments—at university, I fell in love with Plato’s work and the way it shaped ethical and metaphysical thinking. As someone who enjoys history and culture, RE allows me the luxury to explore the world through different lenses, both professionally and personally. As Plato said, ‘Philosophy begins in wonder,’ and that wonder continues to fuel my passion for the subject.”
