Jenni Rawlinson

 

 

I am a Head of RE and Whole School Communication Lead in a rural Secondary School in Wolsingham, County Durham.

I applied for the Leadership Scholarship programme as I feel I am at the right point in my career to develop my expertise, challenge my leadership skills and be pushed out of my comfort zone. Looking forward, I would like to lead on RE across a group of schools and this programme would equip me with the skills, knowledge and confidence to seek out opportunities to do this.

My passion for RE is strongly linked to teaching and learning and seeing the impact our subject has on the young people in front of me. Students aren’t only offered insight, knowledge and a chance to be curious through RE, but also opportunities to experience the religions, cultures and worldviews of others, in the classroom, the local community and beyond – this is so important in an ever-changing, diverse world.
