Through whole population school census data analysis this project sought to determine the benefits of GCSE Religious Studies to secondary schools, with particular reference to those in areas of social disadvantage. A survey of students in schools experiencing social disadvantage analysed the perceived academic, economic, spiritual, moral, social and cultural benefits of RE. The project worked with teachers and education officers for field visits to enhance the authenticity and relevance of RE through a practitioner action research community of inquiry. The findings have been shared with key stakeholders and reports related to the project can be found here: https://www.hope.ac.uk/media/news/GCSE%20Religious%20Studies%20Report.pdf
