Calling Leicestershire home educators! Could you be our new community panel member?
The Religion and Worldviews Home Educators’ Fund is looking for an enthusiastic home educator in Leicestershire to join our community grants panel to help make decisions on the allocation of its funds.
The Fund is now entering its second year after a successful pilot in which over £6,000 of grants were distributed. The fund has been co-designed by a group of home educating families and three charities, All Saints Educational Trust, Culham St Gabriel’s and St Peter’s Saltley Trust in response to the lack of financial support available for RE in home education.
From this September, home educating families across 6 West Midlands counties, as well as Northamptonshire and Leicestershire will be able to apply for grants of up to £1,500 for projects that allow them to explore, experiment with, and expand their learning around religion and worldviews.
The fund will re-open for applications on 1st September 2025.
We are now expanding our small ‘community panel’ who will assess and make decisions on which projects will be supported through the fund. We are looking for a home educator who is passionate about quality RE, and can offer approximately 2 hours per month between September 2025 and February 2026, with around half a day in November to assess applications & take part in the panel decision-making meeting. Meetings will take place online in the early evening. You will be reimbursed for your time.
We are particularly keen to hear from home educators from UK Minority Ethnic or Global Majority Heritage backgrounds, or those from minority faith backgrounds.
If you are a home educating parent or guardian in Leicestershire and are interested in supporting this project as a panel member, fill out the form below, and we’ll get in touch. If you have any questions, please contact Julia Minnear, Grants Manager at Culham St Gabriel’s Trust – Julia@cstg.org.uk
