The University of Bristol was awarded a grant to partner with Religion and Worldviews practitioners in a cutting-edge, innovative opportunity to discuss Race and Education, prompted by a series of films online and in-person, within an international group of academics and practitioners. The aims of the project were:
- Consider. theoretical and practical complexities for teachers of issues of race, intersected with religion and culture and education
- Showcase the contribution of religion and worldviews specialist teachers critical reflection on race and to promote an understanding of religion and worldviews distinctive curriculum contributions
- Encourage religion and worldviews practitioners to appreciate contributions to their subject from other experts outside the subject community in non-defensive ways
- Explore the potential of a new model of knowledge production and exchange built around discussion of a film using collaborative action research.
