Grant Awarded 2021-22 £5,000

The University of Bristol was awarded a grant to partner with Religion and Worldviews practitioners in a cutting-edge, innovative opportunity to discuss Race and Education, prompted by a series of films online and in-person, within an international group of academics and practitioners. The aims of the project were:

  1. Consider. theoretical and practical complexities for teachers of issues of race,  intersected with religion and culture and education
  2. Showcase the contribution of religion and worldviews specialist teachers critical reflection on race and to promote an understanding of religion and worldviews distinctive curriculum contributions
  3. Encourage religion and worldviews practitioners to appreciate contributions to their subject from other experts outside the subject community in non-defensive ways
  4. Explore the potential of a new model of knowledge production and exchange built around discussion of a film using collaborative action research.
