Scottish Teachers Association of Religious and Moral Education (STARME)

Grant Awarded 2023-2024: £5,049

STARME was awarded a grant to deliver a Festival of Learning showcasing best practice in Religious and Moral Education in Scotland. The event took place at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh on 5th May 2024. It enabled participants to enhance curriculum enactment and classroom pedagogy through shared learning and professional development.

The project also fostered collaboration between practitioners and researchers, addressing the longstanding gap in empirical and classroom-relevant research in the subject. By bringing together educators and academics, the festival created a platform for dialogue, innovation, and the co-creation of strategies to improve teaching and learning in Religious and Moral Education across Scotland.
