Empowering Voices: Exploring Worldviews was a project led by the Lincoln Diocesan Board of Education, supporting young people and their families in Lincolnshire and beyond to understand the significance of a worldviews approach to living well together. The project aimed to help participants engage with the rich tapestry of cultural and religious diversity in the UK, so they are less likely to discriminate in future.
Coordinated by Lincolnshire adviser Gillian Georgiou, and supported by a team of production experts, school pupils, and members of local religion and worldview communities, the project formed part of the wider REConnecting Lincolnshire initiative. It brought together artists, schools, community development facilitators, and individuals from a range of religious and non-religious worldviews to explore how lived experiences relate to a wider national context.
Working in five locations across England and in Wales, the team co-produced eight podcast episodes with participating schools and communities. Each episode focused on a different lived experience and included a short audio play, an ‘in conversation’ segment, and an immersive soundscape. Accompanying education packs were created to support teaching at KS2 and KS3.
