Lincoln Diocesan Board of Education

Grant Awarded 2020-21 £20,000

Lincoln Diocesan Board of Education was awarded a grant for a project entitled Empowering Voices. This supports young people and their families in Lincolnshire, (where less than 3/100 people are BAME) and beyond to understand the significance of a worldviews approach to understanding what it means to live well together. The project aims to support people to engage with the rich tapestry of cultural and religious diversity in the UK so that they are less likely to discriminate in future.

The project was coordinated by Lincolnshire adviser Gillian Georgiou, supported by a team of production experts, school pupils and members of local religion and worldview communities. It is part of a wider project exploring diversity and community in Lincolnshire, called ‘REConnecting Lincolnshire’. Read Gillian’s blog about this wider work and how it inspired the creation of podcasts, the Empowering Voices project.
