Donna Lee

I am originally from Anglesey in North Wales and am now based in Sheffield. I currently work as National Lead for Religious Education at Astrea Academy Trust, where I support secondary schools across South Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire. My role involves travelling between schools, leading on curriculum development, subject leadership and improving the quality, consistency and status of RE across the Trust.

I am passionate about engaging with current research in RE, deepening my subject knowledge and staying informed about national developments, debates and policy issues affecting the subject. I am particularly interested in becoming more politically engaged in order to work towards improving the entitlement of Religious Education at both school and national levels.

I am passionate about Religion and Worldviews education because it helps young people understand each other more deeply. The subject encourages empathy, critical thinking and respectful dialogue, supports pupils in navigating issues of identity, belief and values, and equips them to engage thoughtfully within a complex and amazingly diverse world.
