Abigail Needs

I work in a small, rural First school in West Somerset, called Old Cleeve First School. We are part of the Beacon Education Trust and we are a Church of England First School.

I applied for the Leadership Scholarship programme because I want to deliver improvements within the Religion and Worldviews curriculum across the Trust. The leadership programme will help me to continue to build on my curriculum knowledge and design. Additionally, it will help me continue to study ongoing research in this field that I can disseminate within my school setting and at other levels, including within my LTLRE role.

I am passionate about children and adults learning not only about religion, but also how we can approach different topics and ideas through a multi-disciplinary approach, especially through the use of multi-disciplinary characters which can help shape and extend oracy and critical thinking skills.
