Dr Kathryn Wright

Lead Consultant for CPD4RE

I am responsible for leading the Teach:RE Courses and matters related to the recruitment of and continuing professional development of teachers of RE in all phases.

After teaching in East London secondary schools for a number of years, I became an RE adviser to the London Borough of Newham for four years before going freelance in 2005. As well as working as a consultant for Culham St Gabriel’s, I advise the Diocese of Norwich, and Diocese of St Albans. I am a co-opted member of the NATRE executive and am a representative for the Hockerill educational Foundation on the RE Council. I am also a Section 48 inspector and an RE Quality Mark assessor. I have recently completed my PhD examining the purpose of RE and pedagogy in Church of England schools.

My work for CSTG includes managing the four Teach:RE Courses which provide subject knowledge enhancement for those entering the profession, as well as professional development for those already teaching RE in primary and secondary phases. I also oversee the Beyond the Ordinary RE teacher recruitment campaign on behalf of the RE Council and contribute to wider thinking on leadership, research and professional development.
