I studied Social Ethics and Religious Studies at St Martin’s College Lancaster before doing a PGCE in Religious Education at Christchurch College Canterbury.
I was then a Secondary RE leader for 25 years and an Advanced Skills Teacher of RE for 12 years. I became an Adviser for RE for the Borough of Poole and continue to advise several SACREs. I have been involved in several agreed syllabus conferences.
I left the classroom in 2013 to focus on helping people in all Key Stages teach RE. I have been involved in running teacher networks, cpd training in schools and have co-organised and delivered workshops at local and regional RE conferences. These workshops have covered topics including enquiry-based learning, teaching different faiths and using artefacts and photographs in teaching RE.
My work for CSTG includes editing content for RE:Online and in particular the ‘Email a Believer’ aspect of the website. My main interest is to help develop the website to make it accessible to teachers, students and anyone interested in RE.
