NATRE are conducting an important survey of primary teachers involved in RE and have released the following statement:
NATRE is conducting a survey for all primary teachers who teach RE in order to collect and then provide informed and relevant statements relating to the teaching of primary RE. This will help us illustrate the extent of the impact on RE in the light of changes in education.
We are particularly looking at how much support is available for RE in primary schools and how well prepared teachers feel for delivering RE following their teacher training.
Please could all SACREs encourage the primary teachers in their LA to complete the survey? It takes about 15 minutes to complete and can be found on the link below. The deadline is March 31st.
Teachers who reply by the deadline of 31 March can receive a free Unit of Work from RE Today’s Effectiveness RE Planning series, worth £8 which provides well thought through support for teachers and subject leaders looking to revise and develop their RE schemes of work.
The code to claim a free Unit of Work is found at the end of the survey and the Unit can be downloaded until April 5th.
NATRE will publish the analysis of the responses. We hope that this may be useful for SACREs in their own planning of support in primary RE.
NATRE assures you that no data which can identify any individual teacher or school will be published.
